Role DescriptionECA Group is seeking a highly motivated and commercially focused In-Country Manager – Africa (Kenya) to lead student recruitment and business development activities across Kenya and support growth initiatives throughout the African region. Reporting to the Head of Student Acquisition, the successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and executing market growth strategies, achieving student recruitment targets, and strengthening ECA's presence across Africa. The role requires a dynamic professional who can build high-value partnerships, manage recruitment channels, and represent ECA and its university partners at recruitment events, exhibitions, school visits, student interviews, and stakeholder engagements. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing country recruitment plans and market growth strategies. Managing and expanding relationships with education agents, schools, universities, scholarship bodies, government agencies, and corporate partners. Driving lead generation, application conversion, and enrolment outcomes across the region. Representing ECA and its university partners at recruitment fairs, seminars, exhibitions, and promotional events. Delivering market intelligence, competitor analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Coordinating marketing initiatives, digital campaigns, and promotional activities to support recruitment objectives. Monitoring budgets, reporting performance metrics, and ensuring recruitment targets are achieved. Supporting visiting ECA executives and university partners during regional recruitment activities. Maintaining compliance with relevant education regulations and ensuring accurate representation of ECA's programs and partner institutions. This position requires regular travel across Kenya and other African markets, with occasional travel to Australia and other international destinations. Qualifications & ExperienceEssentialProven experience in international student recruitment, education consultancy, business development, or higher education partnerships. Strong understanding of the Kenyan education sector and broader African student recruitment landscape. Demonstrated success in achieving enrolment targets and driving recruitment growth. Established network of education agents, schools, universities, scholarship sponsors, and other key stakeholders. Exceptional relationship management, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills with experience in market planning, recruitment strategy development, and performance reporting. High level of cultural awareness and ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. DesirableExperience representing Australian, UK, or international education providers. Experience managing education recruitment events and targeted marketing campaigns. Additional language capabilities relevant to African markets. Experience working with government scholarship programs, sponsoring bodies, or international education organisations.
