Role Summary

Sightsavers is implementing a five-year IT skills and employability program across seven countries in Africa. The Programme Officer will be responsible for implementing this initiative in Kenya. The program's central aim is to improve access to dignified and fulfilling employment for young people with disabilities, with a strong focus on young women. Key activities include providing market-aligned training, distributing seed funding, and engaging with stakeholders to dismantle barriers to the digital economy.

Note: This role is subject to confirmation of funding.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of the IT skills and employability program within Kenya.
• Manage stakeholder and partner engagement.
• Promote disability inclusion, gender equality, and inclusive workforce practices.
• Facilitate market-aligned training and seed funding initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project implementation within the NGO/INGO, social impact, skills development, or youth empowerment sectors in Kenya.
• Specific experience in NGO economic enhancement.
• Strong knowledge of disability inclusion and gender equality principles.
• Demonstrated expertise in inclusive employment principles.
• Confident stakeholder management skills.
