The African Advanced Level telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) is an inter-governmental organisation headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya and serves the ICT sector in Africa. Our key mandate is to provide human resources capacity building through high-level quality training, consultancy and advisory services to both management and the technical personnel in the Information and Communication and Technology sector in Africa. AFRALTI collaborates with a number of regional and international organisations. Our partnership with the International Telecommunications Union(ITU) has resulted in AFRALTI becoming a Center of Excellence node within the ITU Center of Excellence project.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop research objectives, proposals and drive partnership research programmes. Build and manage strategic partnerships with research institutions and donors. Identify and secure research funding opportunities. Design and conduct cross-sector ICT research and impact evaluations. Analyze research trends and provide evidence for decision making. Publish and disseminate research findings and recommendations. Support new initiatives and projects of the Institute. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Master's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Management or related field. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications. At least 3 years of proven experience in independent research. At least 2 years of proven experience in leading quantitative and mixed methods research. PhD is an added advantage. KEY COMPETENCIES Proven record of research proposal development with a high win rate. Ability to build collaborative relationships and networks. Excellent report writing and communication skills. Strong data analysis, GIS and statistical software skills. Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks. More instructions on the Application Link
