Job Summary The Home-Based Special Needs Teacher/ Occupational Therapist will provide individualized academic and developmental support to a young adult within a home setting, focusing on learning, behaviour, communication, and daily life skills in collaboration with parents and other professionals. Successful candidate will work with a young adult with fair receptive language abilities. The leaner demonstrates a moderate level of understanding spoken language and instructions. Key Responsibilities · Deliver structured one-on-one teaching sessions tailored to the learners needs. · Develop, implement, and regularly review Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs). · Simplify academic content into practical and easy-to-understand learning steps. · Support development of communication, social, and cognitive skills. · Assist the leaner in daily living activities such as hygiene, dressing, and routine building. · Apply positive behaviour management strategies and maintain consistent routines. · Prepare and use appropriate teaching aids and learning materials. · Conduct continuous assessments and document the learner’s progress. · Provide regular feedback and progress reports to parents, doctors and other relevant professionals. · Work closely with parents to ensure consistency in learning and behaviour support. · Promote independence, confidence, and emotional regulation in the learner. · Create and maintain a structured, safe, and supportive home learning environment. · Engage the child in play-based and practical life skills activities. · Collaborate with therapists, doctors or other specialists involved in the child’s development. · Identify challenges early and recommend appropriate interventions. · Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. · Ensure proper handling and care of learning materials and assistive tools. · Support the learner in community exposure activities when required (e.g., guided outings). · Provide safe transport for the learner when needed for appointments, therapy, physical exercises and other learning activities. · Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Requirements · Certificate/Diploma in Special Education or Occupational Therapy. · At least 2 yrs experience working with persons living with disabilities/ special needs. · Valid driving license with proven driving skills and experience. · Mature and empathetic adult male- No female applicants. · Aged between 25-35 years · Strong patience, empathy, and ability to work with children. · Good communication and interpersonal skills. · Certificate of good conduct · Ability to work independently in a home-based environment. · High level of professionalism, integrity, and respect for family privacy.
