Background Information The National Council for Childrens Services is a State Corporation established under section 41 of the Children Act, 2022. The Council draws its mandate from Section 42 of the Children Act 2022. The Council is mandate to regulate, coordinate, and oversight children services in Kenya and advise the government on all matters relating to children. The Council was first established under the now-repealed Children Act 2001 and aligned to the Mwongozo Guidelines of State Corporations through the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendment) Act No. 11 of 2017 Vision Statement Vision Statement A protected and empowered child Mission Statement Mission Statement To regulate, coordinate, and oversight children services in Kenya and advise the government on all matters relating to children Core Values Child First Professionalism Integrity Transparency Accountability Inclusiveness Partnership Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities entail: - Preparing responses to simple routine correspondences; Maintaining office diary and protocol; Handling telephone calls and appointments; Ensuring security of office records, documents and equipment; Attending to visitors / clients; Assisting in planning and organizing meetings, conferences, and seminars Supervision of office cleanliness and Undertaking any other duties that may be assigned. Job Specification Requirement for appointment For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: - Bachelor’s degree in any of the following area Secretarial Studies, bachelor of Business and Office management, OR Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences plus a diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution; and Proficiency in computer applications.
