Background Information The National Council for Childrens Services is a State Corporation established under section 41 of the Children Act, 2022. The Council draws its mandate from Section 42 of the Children Act 2022. The Council is mandate to regulate, coordinate, and oversight children services in Kenya and advise the government on all matters relating to children. The Council was first established under the now-repealed Children Act 2001 and aligned to the Mwongozo Guidelines of State Corporations through the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendment) Act No. 11 of 2017 Vision Statement Vision Statement A protected and empowered child Mission Statement Mission Statement To regulate, coordinate, and oversight children services in Kenya and advise the government on all matters relating to children Core Values Child First Professionalism Integrity Transparency Accountability Inclusiveness Partnership  Duties and responsibilities Duties and responsibilities entail:- Writing and testing computer programs; Verifying, enhancing and testing computer programs; Providing user support; Monitoring performance and Implementing preventive maintenance of servers and other ICT equipment; Maintain an up-to-date ICT inventory and asset management register;  Job Specification     For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -  Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ three (3) of which must be at the grade of ICT Officer or in a comparable position; Degree in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution; Relevant professional certification. in any of the following fields: Systems AND Server Administration technical certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, COMPTIA; OR Programming, Database and System Deployment technical certifications such as MCSD, SQL, AWS, Oracle; OR Networking technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, HCNA, HCNP OR Security and data protection technical certifications such as CISM, CISA, ethical hacking OR Project management technical certifications such as PMP; PRINCE2; Experience with ICT project management and implementation; Proven experience in ICT support and administration, with a strong technical background in IT systems and networks; Familiarity with ICT procurement processes and vendor management; Membership in ISACA or a relevant professional body; Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles and best practices; and Knowledge of cyber security threats and counter measures with experience implementing security controls and measures.
