Mr Rambhai came to Kenya in the early 1940s from the Gujarat region of India. He started a small hardware store in downtown Nairobi in 1948 and that was the humble beginnings of what is now the Ramco Group. His 3 sons, Kirit, Mahendra and Chandrakant joined the family business after their studies and based on these strong family ties, the group built a solid foundation on which it could grow and expand. Ramco GroupâÂÂs initial expansion was within the hardware and building supplies industry which the family knew well. However, in 1986, the brothers diversified into both stainless steel and printing with the acquisitions of ASL Steel and Polythene Industries respectively. These investments opened the door into new industries and soon after, further acquisitions were made in these sectors. In 1995, the Group acquired Sai Office Supplies, an office supplies distributor and soon after came investments in the retail side of this sector. Reporting to the Executive Office, the role holder will act as both a strategic partner and execution owner, ensuring that all marketing initiatives are aligned to the Group's business objectives and long-term growth ambitions. This role offers the opportunity to build and own the end-to-end marketing function, address existing gaps, and position marketing as a key driver of commercial success across the Group. Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy & Planning Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies aligned to the Group's strategic priorities and growth objectives. Translate business goals into actionable marketing plans across multiple companies and business units. Prepare annual and quarterly marketing plans with clear deliverables, timelines, and KPIs. Brand Management & Visibility Drive brand positioning and ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all Group companies. Lead initiatives that enhance visibility, reputation, and market presence of Ramco Group. Develop and oversee brand assets including digital content, marketing collateral, signage, and campaigns. Campaign Execution & Digital Marketing Lead the planning and execution of multi-channel campaigns (digital, print, events, experiential). Manage the Group's digital presence including websites, social media, and online platforms. Ensure consistent, engaging, and high-quality content aligned to business and brand objectives. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory Act as an internal marketing consultant to business units and leadership teams. Collaborate with CEOs and functional heads to align marketing initiatives with commercial priorities. Build and manage partnerships with external agencies, vendors, and stakeholders. Analytics & Reporting Monitor and evaluate marketing performance using data-driven insights. Prepare regular reports for the Executive Office highlighting impact, performance, and improvement opportunities. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions. Project & Operations Management Manage multiple marketing projects across companies, ensuring timely delivery and quality execution. Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver integrated outcomes. Establish and maintain structured marketing processes and workflows. Budget & Resource Management Develop and manage marketing budgets aligned with Group priorities. Ensure cost-effective allocation of resources and track return on investment (ROI) for marketing activities. Relevant Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Qualification in Marketing, Communication and other business-related field from a recognized institution. Membership in the Marketing Society of Kenya will be an added advantage. CIM certification will be an added advantage. Post-graduate or advanced qualification in Marketing or another business-related field will be a plus. Understanding of Digital Marketing and Social Media. Reporting skills. Effective organization and structuring of the Marketing Function in the Group in collaboration with company CEO's. Utilization of marketing and branding techniques to drive revenue through the B2B and B2C channels.
