The promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, introduced the devolved system of Government which resulted to the formation of the 47 Counties across the Country, Kakamega County being among them. Kakamega County is located in the western region of the country with an area of 3,051.3 square kilometers and an estimated population of 2,079,669 and density of 682. Administratively, it is divided into twelve sub counties, sixty wards, one hundred and eighty seven Village Units and four hundred Community Administrative Areas. Politically, it comprises of twelve constituencies and sixty wards. The climate in this region is very conducive for many activities including crop and animal production. County Vision A wealthy and vibrant county offering high quality services to its residents County Mission To improve the welfare of the people of Kakamega county through formulation and implementation of all-inclusive multi-sectoral policies. Duties and Responsibilities Verification of vouchers and committal documents in accordance with laid down rules and regulations; Assisting with employee salary calculations and deductions; Data capture, maintenance of primary records such as registers and preparation of simple management reports; Safe custody of programme records and assets; Writing cheques and posting payments and receipt vouchers in the cash books; Balancing and ruling of the cash books, imprests and advance ledgers on daily basis; and Prepare monthly, quarterly, biannual & annual financial reports.  Requirements for Appointment Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field; OR Passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountants Examination or its approved equivalent qualification; Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; Proven work experience for a minimum of 2 years as accounts assistant or similar role; and Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures; and
