We invite applications for the position of Process Documentation & P&ID Engineer (Graduate)**– Finlays Tea Extracts Kenya at our Kericho operations. **
JOB OVERVIEW: ** We are looking for a detail‑oriented and motivated Graduate Engineer to support our development of PFD & P&IDs in an instant tea manufacturing plant. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and updating Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) while ensuring compliance with process safety, food safety, and engineering standards. Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Graduate Engineer will lead the development of as-is Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for an instant tea plant, ensuring documents are accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with process safety and food-safety requirements. Provide core documentation and technical input to PHA/HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA, Management of Change (MoC), commissioning, and continuous improvement. S/he will coordinate across Process, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation teams to align equipment. **
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: **
Be a holder of a Bachelor of Science in any relevant Engineering Background -preferably Chemical Engineering
Open to fresh graduates; 3–6 years’ experience in food/beverage/process industries is an added advantage.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Plant 3D/Visio and basic instrumentation & automation knowledge, or equivalent design tools
Competent with instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, analyzers), loop types (AI/AO/DI/DO), and PLC/SCADA basics.

Strong attention to detail, good teamwork skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Develop, review, and maintain accurate PFDs/P&IDs and engineering registers.

Support process safety reviews of PHA – Process Hazard Analysis; HAZOP – Hazard and Operability Study, HAZID – Hazard Identification, LOPA – Layers of Protection Analysis, with correct documentation.

Manage drawing updates through the Management of Change (MoC) process.

Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical & Automation teams to align equipment, instrumentation, and control philosophies.

Conduct plant walkdowns and capture as-built updates after installations or changes.

Maintain proper documentation control and provide audit-ready engineering records.

Identify improvement opportunities in design, energy efficiency, and process reliability.
