KES 125,000 – KES 130,000

Everyone has the power to make a difference. And when we’re all working towards the same shared vision, nothing is out of reach. That’s what we believe, and why our 125,000+ Associates around the world are empowered to take action every day towards the world we want tomorrow. Because we know, the world we want tomorrow starts with how we do business today. #TomorrowStartsToday. That’s our inspiration for pushing boundaries and challenging ourselves to transform the way we do business every day. For generations, we’ve been making many of the world’s most loved and most iconic brands, products and services. We want that to continue for generations to come, and so we know that as a global business we have the opportunity - the responsibility - to help create a tomorrow in which the planet, its people and pets can thrive. As a Maua Customer Development Representative at Mars, you will play a crucial role in our Maua program, which aims to empower underprivileged youth in Kenya. Your responsibility will be to create livelihood opportunities by managing our last-mile distribution into slums and remote rural areas. This involves recruiting and training a network of micro-entrepreneurs, coordinating program activities, and ensuring the development of Social, Human, and Shared Financial Capitals within a diverse ecosystem. What are we looking for? A university degree, preferably in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, or Business Management. A minimum of 5 years’ experience with a proven track record in managing livelihood improvement projects within the private sector or NGOs. You must be passionate about driving economic growth for underserved populations and comfortable working in slums and other remote areas of the country. Knowledge and experience in distribution, community outreach programs, and people management. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with working knowledge of Kiswahili being essential. Someone who is comfortable working within an agile, startup-like business context. What would be your key responsibilities? Recruit, train, and retain a network of micro-entrepreneurs (Uplifters, Hawkers, and Stockpoints) in hard-to-reach communities. Identify and develop new areas for geographical expansion, including creating rollout plans and routes. Deliver on sales volume targets and collaborate with internal teams to ensure stock availability and execute operational plans. Conduct training and development for entrepreneurs through the MAUA Academy, mentorship, and other capacity-building programs. Manage local operations, including budgeting, reporting on performance metrics, and representing the Maua Business in local forums and stakeholder meetings. Collect and encode data to support the measurement and evaluation of the Maua program, including tracking non-financial performance metrics. What can you expect from Mars? Work with over 130,000 diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles. Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today. Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University. An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
