About the Role We design, build, operate, and maintain a network of solar-powered desalination systems called Solar Water Farms (SWFs). These systems provide clean, healthy, and affordable drinking water to communities that need it the most. As a Junior Field Service Technician, you will support the operation and maintenance of the solar water systems at assigned sites. You will work under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Field Service Technician to ensure that all systems are running efficiently, safely, and in compliance with established standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing energy and water treatment systems. Handle the maintenance and repair of boreholes, injection wells, soak pits, and associated plumbing. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of solar water systems. Monitor system performance, collect operational data, and report any abnormalities to the Senior Field Service Technician. Maintaining and repairing civil, mechanical, and electrical installations at the sites. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records at assigned sites. Monitor water quality parameters and ensure compliance with KEBS requirements. Safely handle tools, electrical components, and water treatment chemicals as trained. Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and operational standards. Provide technical guidance and training to the site-level teams. Perform any other duties as assigned Qualifications and Experience: Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Water Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. At least 2 years of experience in technical maintenance or field service, preferably in solar, water treatment, or related systems. Solid understanding of solar energy systems, water treatment processes, and electrical controls. EPRA registration as a T1/T2 or equivalent training (a plus but not required). Critical Competencies: Experience in both solar and water equipment Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpretation of verbal and visual technical information. Ability to physically troubleshoot, dismantle, and rebuild equipment. Salary: 93,000 KES
