The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for managing day to day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal controls, and providing leadership/guidance to Assistant Accountants/Accounts Assistant particularly on operational accounting activities within the engineering and projects environment.**

Experience: Minimum of 6 years in a similar accounting role preferably in Engineering Sector

Core Accounting Functions**

Manage and execute the month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all accounts are reconciled accurately and promptly.

Manage Accounts Payable (A/P) by verifying documentation, obtaining internal approvals, prepare payment runs and ensure timely payments

Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable balances and transactions

Perform weekly and monthly reviews for bank reconciliation, corporate credit card, and petty cash to ensure all cash transactions are accurately recorded and any discrepancies resolved promptly
Financial Reporting, Audit & Analysis****

Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Assist with variance analysis and budget tracking.

Provide data and analysis to support management decision-making.

Ensure all financial activities comply with local tax regulations and accounting standards.

Liaise with auditors and tax consultants during audits and reviews.
Team Leadership & Supervision****

Coordinate daily activities of Assistant Accountants / Accounts Assistants.

Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training.

Ensure timelines for reporting and reconciliations are met.

Escalate complex issues to the Chief Accountant.
Systems & Process Improvement****
