In a relatively short time AAA Roses built its strong name in the Kenyan flower industry mainly due to high quality products, modern facilities and commitment and dedication of our professional team.Job objective We are seeking to recruit a dynamic, detail-oriented and results-driven Head of Quality Assurance to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring full compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards while driving process control, customer complaint resolution, CCP management, and continuous improvement initiatives within the high-care production environment to achieve consistent product excellence and customer satisfaction. Your tasks and responsibilities Process controls Challenge the existing process flow and QA controls targeting improved finished product quality, shelf-life performance and raw material utilization. Giving feedback to the QA manager / Technical manager on any aspects that are preventing the QA function to work at optimal levels. Ensure that laid down Quality management systems are adhered to at all times during production process to ensure that the finished product fully conforms in terms of quality, safety, legality and authenticity. Ensure cool chain is observed strictly during produce handling from intake through dispatch. Provide full time traceability during produce handling and guarantee effective stock rotation for both semi processed produce and finished product. Spear head high care product concession and product change sheet controls. Participate in all maintenance and hygiene hand back after all high care pack house maintenance activity to positive release all maintenance activities undertaken back to production.  Finished product and packaging specifications. Prime custodian and contact person for all finished product and packaging specifications for high care. Trigger all finished product and packaging specifications review in line with existing product specifications requirements. Circulate and make all high care workers aware of all finished product and packaging once in circulation including label specifications. Ensure all packaging and finished product specifications are available and updated.  Customer complaints handling. Trigger all high care products customer complaints and claims investigation. Together with the QA manager investigate all customer complaints, trending of such and ensuring corrective actions are put in place to avoid re-occurrence. CCP lead person. Ensure the two CCP’s are effective, well monitored and regularly challenged for effectiveness. Effective monitoring of CCP stations by having adequately trained personnel supervising the process. Familiarize and domesticate all CCP’s processes. Complete the new product HACCP evaluation analysis and record for all high-care products and forward to the QA manager for approval and filing. Ensure finished product specifications are available and in use for all new products.  Product labels controls Contact person for all high care pack house labels controls and approvals. Familiarize with existing label control procedures including the work instructions and print procedures. Spear head all high care mislabeling or label near miss control incidences and generate an improvement plan to execute. Ensure daily product label expiry dates approvals is conducted in a timely fashion. Cool chain controls Ensure high care cold room units are fully operational. Effective cold room temperature monitoring records update. Ensure real time temperature monitoring devices are fully functional and active. Effective cold room doors maintenance to enhance cooling effectiveness. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor, manager or senior management. Your profile Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing or high-care production environment. Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, CCP monitoring, food safety, and quality management systems. Experience in customer complaint handling, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Good understanding of product specifications, packaging controls, and label management. Knowledge of cold chain management and traceability systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and report-writing abilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and quality documentation systems.
