Our customers are mainly small businesses and entrepreneurs who use our credit to grow their businesses and provide for the unforeseen.Job Purpose To be the visual storyteller and creative force behind 4G Capital's internal and external communications. The Designer/Videographer will work within the dynamic Comms and Marketing team to conceptualise, capture, and produce compelling visual content (video, photography, and graphic design) that truly represents the transformative impact of 4G Capital on our nano and micro-business clients, showcases our vibrant team culture, and powerfully communicates our brand identity across Kenya and Uganda and beyond. This role is essential for driving engagement, awareness, and trust in line with our mission to democratise wealth creation. Roles and Responsibilities The Creative Content Specialist reports directly to the Senior Comms and Marketing Manager and is responsible for the following key areas: Visual Content Strategy and Production Video Production: Conceptualise, plan, shoot, direct, and edit high-quality video content (including client testimonials, staff interviews, brand explainers, social media clips, and internal training materials) that effectively communicates 4G Capital’s impact and brand message across Kenya and Uganda. Graphic Design: Design and produce compelling, brand-compliant digital and print assets, including but not limited to social media graphics, presentations, internal communications materials, event collateral, and reports. Photography: Capture high-quality still photography of clients, field operations, staff, and events for use across all communication channels. Asset Management: Systematically organise, catalogue, and maintain a secure and easily accessible digital library of all visual assets (video footage, photography, and design files). Brand Guardianship and Consistency Brand Adherence: Ensure all visual content strictly adheres to 4G Capital’s brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in colour, typography, tone, and visual identity across all platforms. Creative Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in design, video production, and visual storytelling to continuously elevate the brand’s visual presence. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with the Comms and Marketing team, Impact Team, HR, and other internal departments to fulfil visual content needs for marketing campaigns, internal communications, investor relations, and external reporting. Field Work: Coordinate and execute regular field visits to clients in Kenya and Uganda to capture authentic and powerful impact stories. Brief Interpretation: Effectively receive, interpret, and execute creative briefs from the Senior Comms and Marketing Manager and other internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification. Technical Proficiency Software Mastery: Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in professional video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro), motion graphics (e.g., Adobe After Effects), and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Equipment Management: Maintain and manage all video, photography, and associated technical equipment. Website Editing (Wix): Update and maintain the 4G Capital website using Wix, including uploading new content, refreshing imagery, publishing blog posts and impact stories, and ensuring pages remain accurate, on-brand, and up to date. Required Skills and Experience Essential Technical Proficiency Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency and a proven track record using the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically: Video Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro. Motion Graphics: Adobe After Effects (or equivalent) for creating compelling animated graphics and titles. Graphic Design: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for digital and print collateral. Website Editing: Working knowledge of Wix for content updates, page management, image uploading, and publishing new material to the company website. Filming and Photography: Hands-on experience operating professional video cameras (DSLR/Mirrorless/Cinema) and associated equipment (lighting, audio, gimbals, drones where applicable), including advanced knowledge of composition, colour grading, and sound design. Audio Production: Competence in recording clean, high-quality audio in field settings and post-production mixing. Core Professional Skills Visual Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate complex narratives, brand messages, and impact stories into clear, engaging, and emotionally resonant visual content, particularly for social impact or financial inclusion sectors. Creative Conception and Planning: Proven ability to move from initial brief or idea to full production, including storyboarding, script development, shot list creation, and managing production logistics independently. Time Management and Project Delivery: Highly organised with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality work under pressure. Adaptability and Field Experience: Experience working independently in varied field environments (rural and urban areas in East Africa preferred) with resourcefulness and adaptability to unexpected challenges. Brand Alignment: Deep understanding of brand guidelines and the ability to ensure 100% visual and tonal consistency across all deliverables. Required Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar role, combining graphic design and video production/editing, ideally within a corporate, NGO, or fast-paced fintech environment. A strong, well-curated portfolio showcasing diverse video, photography, and graphic design projects that demonstrate technical excellence and narrative skill. Experience in creating content specifically tailored for digital platforms (social media, website, email marketing) and internal communications. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, taking direction and proactively offering creative solutions.
