Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC, KenGen was incorporated on 1 February 1954 under the Companies Act (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Kenya) as Kenya Power Company (KPC) to construct the transmission line between Nairobi and Tororo in Uganda as well as to develop geothermal and other generating facilities in the country. Since its inception, KPC sold electricity in bulk at cost to Kenya Power under a management contract. Duties and Responsibilities Planning, designing, and implementing ICT infrastructure systems ensuring ICT systems availability, optimization and security Providing and maintaining ICT Network Infrastructure including Microwave links, VSATs, Fibre links, Cabled and wireless LAN and data center. Providing and maintaining security, surveillance and access control systems. Designing ICT Infrastructure, security such as Intrusion detection, Network access control and disaster recovery to ensure business continuity. Administering and providing technical support of Plant Control Systems including SCADA, DCS systems and related applications. Planning and managing systems upgrades, migrations and enhancements. Ensuring periodic maintenance of backend hardware and software systems as per schedule. Maintaining up to date inventory of all ICT assets. Providing ICT customer service and technical support including user training. Preparation and submission of task reports Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Communication Technology or Equivalent qualifications. Must be Prepared to serve anywhere in any of the business areas in Kenya
