The Cyber Security Expert will lead cybersecurity planning, implementation, monitoring, and compliance activities for enterprise ICT and digital transformation projects. The role involves securing systems, networks, applications, databases, and infrastructure against cyber threats while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will support the implementation of robust security controls, threat detection mechanisms, and risk management frameworks to protect organizational and client systems and data. Scope of Work: Cybersecurity Operations and Risk Management: Design and implement cybersecurity strategies, frameworks, and controls. Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing coordination. Implement and manage network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies. Monitor systems and infrastructure for security threats and incidents. Support incident response, threat mitigation, and recovery processes. Ensure secure configuration and hardening of servers, applications, and databases. Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures. Security Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory requirements. Support implementation of role-based access control and identity management frameworks. Maintain audit logs, monitoring systems, and compliance documentation. Conduct security awareness and user training initiatives. Support secure integration of APIs, cloud services, and enterprise platforms. Coordinate security reviews and compliance assessments. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare cybersecurity assessment reports and remediation recommendations. Monitor security KPIs and operational metrics. Support project governance and technical reporting activities. Perform any other duties assigned from time to time. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent cybersecurity certification is an added advantage. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in cybersecurity operations and infrastructure security. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in network security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and cybersecurity controls. Experience securing enterprise ICT or public sector environments. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices. Experience with SIEM, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and threat monitoring tools. Strong analytical, incident response, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Knowledge of Somali language or ability to coordinate translation services is mandatory.
