The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited is incorporated in Kenya under the Company Act and is also licensed to do the business of banking under the Banking Act. The Bank was initially registered under the Co-operative Societies Act at the point of founding in 1965. This status was retained up to and until June 27th 2008 when the Banks Special General Meeting resolved to incorporate under the Companies Act with a view to complying with the requirements for listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). The Bank went public and was listed on December 22nd 2008. Shares previously held by the 3,805 Co-operative Societies and unions were ring-fenced under CoopHoldings Co-operative Society Limited which became the strategic investor in the Bank with a 64.56% stake. The Bank runs three subsidiary companies, namely: Kingdom Securities Limited: This is a stockbroking firm with the bank holding a controlling 60% stake. Co-opTrust Investment Services Limited: This is the fund management subsidiary wholly-owned by the bank. Co-op Consultancy & Insurance Agency Limited (CCIA): This is the corporate finance, financial advisory and capacity-building subsidiary wholly-owned by the bank. The Role The successful jobholder will be expected to: Enhance Forex revenues through proactive engagement with the Retail and Business Banking Division. Regularly interact with branches, participate in relevant forums, and support branch staff through training and capacity-building efforts. Resolve branch queries promptly and improve FX processes and products to stay competitive. Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering tailored treasury solutions to meet their financial needs. Provide expert advice on treasury products, risk management, and market trends. Develop and execute strategies to boost Forex sales and revenue from Retail and SME customers. Stay updated with market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes. Develop expertise in various treasury products and provide insightful recommendations on investment opportunities and risk management. Track and report Forex product performance across branches. Monitor Incoming and Outgoing Swift performance to ensure efficiency. Work with Marketing & PR to support Forex product promotions and establish a strong outdoor presence. Qualifications, Skills & Attributes The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications: A University Degree in a business-related field with an ACI Dealing Certificate. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a busy dealing room. An understanding of CBK and Banking Acts. Comprehensive knowledge of Treasury functions, including Back-Office processing. Strong presentation, risk analysis, and treasury operations skills. Excellent communication, strong selling, networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills. Analytical, presentation, and report writing abilities. Team-oriented with the capability to work under pressure. Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Resilient and adaptable to challenging targets. Special Position Requirements: Frequent travel required for branch and customer visits.
