The hospital was started in 1909 by the Church of Scotland. It is owned and governed by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. It is located in the Central Highlands of Kenya between the Aberdares Range and Mount Kenya 130 Km (80 Miles) North of Nairobi at altitude of 5,900ft. It is a 203 bed hospital and provides holistic health care. Requirements: Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution. Master's Degree in General Surgery from a recognized institution. Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) and Specialist Certificate from KMPDC. Valid practicing license. Ability to offer Laparoscopic and Endoscopic services will give one a head start Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover. At least three (3) years of experience as a General Surgeon in a reputable hospital. Proficiency in computer applications, Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and flexibly.
