The University has a unique history that has evolved through different educational phases. It was started in April 1929 by a British Colonial farmer cum educationist by the name William Thomas Alfred Levet. The Institution was by then a whitesâ only primary school with a large farm, which was sold to Guy Bullen in February 1959. Mr. Bullen sold it to Ministry of Agriculture in 1965. Between 1965 and 1970, the Institution served as a Large-scale Farmers training (LSFTC) college. These academic staff are expected to: - Teach and train in their area of specialization/expertise at undergraduate and graduate levels; Supervise and mentor both students and staff in their area of specialization/expertise; Lead research/innovation teams in area of specialization/expertise; Provide strategic leadership in development, audit and review of academic programs and research activities in their area of specialization/expertise; Be a member of the departmental and School academic board; Develop teaching program in their area of specialization/expertise; Solicit research funds and participate in funded research activities; Participate in administration and management of departmental programs and activities; Create networks, linkages, collaborations and partnerships with local, regional and international organizations in their area of specialization/expertise; Participating in research conferences and seminars; Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals; Participate in the development of departmental budget; Develop learning materials; Develop research/innovation products for income generation; Management and administration of examinations and assessments; Offer career guidance and mentorship; Perform any other related duty assigned from time to time; and Any other duties as may be assigned, prescribed and/or delegated by the immediate supervisor. PERSONS SPECIFICATIONS: For appointment to this post, a candidate MUST have the following academic and professional requirements: - An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university; Have published at least two [2] articles in refereed journals, and Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body [where applicable]. OR A Master’s degree in the relevant field an accredited and recognized university [in special cases] with at least three [3] years of teaching experience at the university level or in a research institution or industry; and A minimum of twenty-four [24 publication points], of which at least sixteen [16] should be from refereed journal papers; and Registered with the relevant professional body [where applicable]; and Provide evidence of having registered for PhD and indication of progress on the same.
