Smart Farm is looking for a hardworking and experienced Farm Agronomist to join our team in Kagio, Kirinyaga County. The right person will oversee day-to-day crop production, manage farm workers, and ensure our farm runs smoothly through every season. What You Will Do Plan and oversee all crop activities — from land preparation to harvest Monitor crops and take action against pests, diseases, and weeds Carry out soil testing and recommend the right fertilisers Manage irrigation and ensure water is used efficiently Supervise and guide farm workers on a daily basisKeep clear records of inputs, yields, and farm costs Source seeds, fertilisers, and other inputs as needed Advise management on crop choices and ways to improve productivity Ensure the farm follows good agricultural and environmental practices Liaise with suppliers, extension officers, and buyers when required What We Are Looking For A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field At least 1–2 years of hands-on farm experience (solid internship experience is acceptable) Good knowledge of crop production, soil health, and pest management Familiarity with crops grown in the Kirinyaga region — maize, vegetables, rice, etc. Ability to operate basic farm equipment and tools Good record-keeping and communication skills Comfortable leading and supervising a team of farm workers Willing to live and work full-time on the farm Honest, reliable, and hardworking Who You Are You can work independently and take initiative without being pushed You are physically fit and happy to work outdoors in all conditions You are a practical problem-solver who gets things done You communicate well with both farm hands and managementYou genuinely love farming and want to see the land thrive Benefits Monthly salary: Kshs 16,000 Available on farm accommodation
