JAPAfrica is looking for a Brand Manager — HCE to lead the development, positioning and commercial growth of premium construction and mining equipment brands across African markets. This is a strategic role with strong exposure to international markets, business development, dealer network support and after-sales strategy. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with premium HCE brands such as CAT, Volvo, Komatsu, Liebherr or similar, and the ability to act from an importer’s perspective, supporting markets, partners and business units across different regions.
Key Responsibilities Manage and develop the assigned HCE brand across JAPAfrica markets; Define and promote products adapted to the needs, requirements and specificities of each market/region; Develop and implement the brand’s commercial strategy; Support the development of the dealer/importer network from a business and operational perspective; Define and implement the after-sales strategy, ensuring alignment with brand standards and market expectations; Monitor market trends, competitors, pricing, product positioning and customer needs; Follow business KPIs, commercial performance and brand development indicators; Support negotiations and communication with international partners, manufacturers and key stakeholders; Ensure brand consistency, market competitiveness and long-term business growth.
Candidate Profile We are looking for a senior professional with strong international exposure, strategic vision and deep knowledge of the construction, heavy equipment and/or mining equipment sector.
The ideal candidate should have: Minimum 10 years of experience with premium construction/mining equipment brands; Proven background in brands such as CAT, Volvo, Komatsu, Liebherr or equivalent; Solid experience in brand management, preferably from an importer, distributor or regional management perspective; Strong understanding of international markets, dealer networks and after-sales operations; Strategic mindset and ability to define commercial priorities across different countries and regions; Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills; Availability for frequent international travel; Native or equivalent level of English; Additional languages will be considered an advantage.
Education & Requirements Proven experience in international markets and premium brand management; Relevant certifications, licenses or technical qualifications will be valued; Strong business acumen and ability to work across commercial, technical and after-sales areas.
