Requirements

A minimum of three years’ experience as an Operations Manager in a commercial air transport organization.

Computer literacy is required.

Must have completed a Flight Dispatcher’s course.

Thorough working knowledge of flight operations, KCAA, and ICAO regulations.

Strong leadership skills to manage flight operations and ground staff, and to coordinate with maintenance and crew scheduling teams.

Strong resource management skills to optimize aircraft utilization, fuel planning, ground handling, and overnight stops.

Strong crisis response skills to effectively manage weather disruptions, clearance delays, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events.

Ensuring that all licenses and documentation relating to the Company’s aircraft operations are current and valid at all times.

Obtaining Police, Department of Defence, diplomatic, and all other relevant clearances as and when required.

Acting as a liaison with all government bodies concerned with the operation of the company’s aircraft.

Responsible for maintaining the discipline, welfare, and morale of flight operations officers and ground handling staff.

Supervising general administration and, in conjunction with the relevant post holders, ensuring the efficient functioning of the flying section in accordance with statutory, industry and internal standards.

Maintaining proper records relating to flight operations.

Assigning crews to flights and preparing flight schedules in conjunction with the Crew Scheduling Officer.

Ensuring that all contractual requirements relating to aircraft and crew are met.

Serving as the company’s Dangerous Goods Coordinator.
