Makueni County Public Service Board is established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act 2012. The Board was inaugurated on the 5th of August, 2013 as a body corporate with perpetual succession and seal capable of suing and being sued in its corporate name. It is composed of a Chairman, five Board Members and a Secretary all appointed by the Governor with approval of the County Assembly. The Board established its secretariat in 2014 Vision: "A public service that thrives and where performance excels” Mission: "To attract, retain and inspire a result oriented County Public Service" Core Values Integrity Professionalism Fairness and equity Discipline Respect Team work Rallying Cry: "Quality Staff, Quality Service”Requirements for appointment; For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: Be a Kenyan citizen; A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Engineering (Civil or Water) or Finance or Economics, or Business Management, Environmental science or other Social Sciences; A Master's degree or higher qualification will be an added advantage; Experience in management of public/private entities for a period of not less than five(5) years; Attended and successfully completed a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; Meet the requirements of leadership and integrity in chapter six of the constitution of Kenya, 2010; Be registered with the relevant professional body and be a member in good standing (where applicable);  Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with highly demonstrable competencies in strategy formulation and implementation, building shared vision and managing people in a multi-cultural environment.
