Outspan Hospital started operations with the establishment of an Out Patient Department on August 7, 2001. A month later, the In Patient Department was opened with a capacity of 21 beds.Duties and Responsibilities examine, diagnose and manage common oral and dental conditions Carry out dental procedures such as tooth extractions, scaling and polishing, dental fillings, oral prophylaxis. Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation ensure infection prevention and control measures are adhered to within the dental clinic refer complicated dental procedures to dental surgeons and specialists support and implement MOH oral health policies and standards Qualifications and Experience Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution. Registration with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) Minimum of two (3) years’ post-internship experience Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental hygiene, oral health, and infection prevention and control. Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems). Other Skills & Competencies Ability to perform basic dental procedures (examinations, extractions, prophylaxis, fluoride application). Strong knowledge of oral disease prevention, health education, and community mobilization. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry advancements. Good communication and interpersonal skills
