This position is located in the Regional Office for Southern and Eastern Africa (ROSEA), Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Nairobi to support the scale-up and mainstreaming of the anticipatory approach. OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA's mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions. This temporary job opening is being advertised for the position of the Humanitarian Affairs Officer/ Anticipatory Approach in the Regional Office for Southern and Eastern Africa (ROSEA), Nairobi. The Humanitarian Affairs Officer reports to the Head of ROSEA through the relevant section chief, with a second reporting line to the Climate and Innovation Section in OCHA's Financing and Outreach Division (FOD).
