Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013. The 1979 Act established KEMRI as a National body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. Research Intern Key Responsibilities: Data entry into laboratory information management system Sample reception and archiving Recruitment and enrolment of study participants Maintaining detailed documentation of study and laboratory activities Generating reports and summaries Laboratory testing for pathogen identification Genome sequencing technologies Basic data analysis Administering informed consent, questionnaires and case report forms Maintaining Quality Management Systems Vacancy Requirements: Bachelor of Science in any Biomedical Sciences from a recognized Institution Mandatory Should possess excellent communication skills Mandatory Must be goal oriented, dynamic, passionate and a self-starter Mandatory Should be a person of integrity Mandatory Should possess strong analytical skills Mandatory Must be computer literate. Mandatory Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills Mandatory Should be fluent in English and Swahili, both spoken and written Mandatory
