Senior Accountant – Logistics & Cargo Operations Nairobi, Kenya (On-site)**

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (no daylight saving adjustments)

Role Summary** We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support and lead accounting and finance activities for a cargo & logistics operator. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, strong reconciliations, and internal audit capability, including handling complex or non-routine journal entries.**

You will work closely with operations teams (freight, warehousing, customs) to ensure revenue accuracy, cost control, and financial integrity.

Qualifications & Experience**

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a plus

• 3–5 years of accounting experience (logistics, freight forwarding, or shipping experience strongly preferred)

• Proven experience with complex reconciliations and non-routine journal entries

• Experience in internal audits or compliance testing

• Knowledge of Aruba tax/statutory requirements is an advantage

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP/accounting systems and freight/TMS systems is a plu

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger and post complex journal entries.

• Perform key reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

• Lead month-end close and prepare financial reports.

• Oversee AR/AP, billing accuracy, and collections.

• Ensure revenue and cost accuracy in coordination with operations.

• Support audits, compliance, and process improvements.
