Accion Impact Management LLC (AIM) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Accion created in 2022 to manage investment funds launched by Accion to promote Accion’s mission of creating a financially inclusive world. AIM provides investment management services to funds promoted by Accion--currently including the Accion Digital Transformation Fund LP (ADTx) and Accion Venture Lab (AVL). Position Summary

The ADTx Africa Regional Partner brings deep expertise in private equity in emerging markets, particularly in regulated financial institutions that are developing innovative digital financial services for MSMEs, smallholder farmers, and low-income households. A successful candidate will bring operational knowledge of how financial institutions can leverage technology to scale, and will collaborate with ADTx’s Operating Partner, Accion Advisory, Accion’s financial inclusion advisory team, and other advisory groups to help develop digitization strategies for companies, liaising with portfolio company shareholders, boards and management teams to ensure alignment. The Africa Regional Partner may manage an Investment Analyst as appropriate for the size of the portfolio and opportunities in the region. We expect investments in Africa will represent roughly 25% of total investible capital and could include co-investments by limited partners.

Position Responsibilities

Working closely with the Managing Partners, the Africa Regional Partner is responsible for leading the end-to-end investment cycle for the Africa portfolio, from deal sourcing through execution and exit, as well as supporting the team globally as needed. Key investment processes include: Identifying equity investment targets consistent with ADTx’s impact mission and digitalization theme. Creating and overseeing the preparation of detailed financial models, projections, and valuations to analyze equity investment and divestment opportunities and report to limited partners. Presenting deal analysis and investment recommendations to the Investment Committee. Leading deal negotiations and execution (including legal documentation), ensuring compliance with ESG policies. Managing the equity portfolio and developing and executing responsible commercial exit strategies for portfolio companies. Help develop a digitization strategy with the digital transformation team for potential target companies and support the implementation as value creation. Provide strategic support for portfolio companies, such as developing suitable alliances, raising new debt and equity, and providing input on strategic decisions, especially ESG and digitization initiatives. Represent ADTx on portfolio company boards as appropriate. Build co-investment consortia and develop strong relationships with co-investors. Provide ongoing support to the Operations and Finance teams on portfolio company valuation and reporting; Work closely with Managing Partners to build a strong brand and culture, while assuring that AIM adheres to industry best practices. Support investor relations and due diligence with potential investors. Represent AIM locally in the Africa market and globally, participating in professional development and knowledge sharing activities externally and with Accion as appropriate.

Position Qualifications

15+ years of progressive investment experience in private equity, with a strong focus on financial institutions and fintech, including a demonstrated track record of originating, leading, and exiting investments in Africa. Deep sector expertise in financial services and financial technology, including operating models, regulatory environments, and competitive dynamics across African markets Proven ability to define and execute regional investment strategies, including building proprietary pipelines, identifying emerging themes, and aligning investment activity with broader organizational and impact objectives Experience partnering with financial institutions to drive value creation, including the design and implementation of digital strategies for financial inclusion, with a strong understanding of innovation in financial inclusion; entrepreneurial experience a plus; Demonstrated ability to influence and shape board and senior management decision-making, serving as a trusted advisor on strategy, growth, and operational transformation Advanced analytical and investment judgment, with extensive experience leading due diligence, structuring transactions, and managing portfolio performance to deliver both financial and impact outcomes Strong ability to build and mobilize networks across peers, stakeholders, and decision makers to create opportunities and drive results. Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience mentoring and developing investment professionals and contributing to a high-performance, collaborative team culture across geographies. Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating effectively within a global, matrixed organization. Highly effective communicator with executive presence, capable of influencing diverse stakeholders and representing the ADTx team and AIM externally; proven experience developing and delivering senior-level presentations and investment materials. Willingness to embody AIM’s values of Excellence, Respect and Passion for Social Change. Masters level degree in business or finance; Strong oral and written communication skills in English, French is a plus; Exceptional ability to build and leverage relationships across investors, partners, and industry leaders.

Travel Requirements

Travel within Africa and internationally is required (estimated 25-35% of time).
