The Role BNU’s Global Collaborations Office is responsible for planning and implementing effective recruitment strategies to build the University’s brand and profile in key international markets, while supporting ambitious student enrolment targets. Reporting to the International Recruitment Manager and with ultimate accountability to the Head of Global Collaborations, the Regional Advisor – Kenya will play a key role in strengthening the University’s presence across Kenya and East Africa, supporting student recruitment growth, managing stakeholder relationships, and identifying partnership opportunities. The post holder will contribute to achieving regional recruitment targets by implementing market-specific recruitment strategies and activities. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues across Marketing, Admissions, Compliance, and Academic teams to ensure effective and responsible recruitment practices aligned with compliances. This is a front-facing role requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent relationship management abilities, and experience working within an international education environment. The role will involve travel across Kenya and neighbouring markets, as well as occasional visits to the UK for training and strategic meetings. The position will be based in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities · Support the delivery of effective recruitment strategies and market plans to maximise student enrolment growth from Kenya and East Africa. · Undertake recruitment activities including education exhibitions, school visits, counsellor meetings, student seminars, and agency visits. · Build and maintain strong relationships with education agents, schools, colleges, sponsors, government bodies, alumni, and other key stakeholders. · Work closely with the University’s existing agent network while identifying and onboarding new recruitment partners in the region. · Advise prospective students and offer holders on programmes, entry requirements, scholarships, visa processes, and application procedures. · Support the implementation of responsible recruitment practices in line with UKVI compliance requirements. · Organise and support recruitment-focused events including offer-holder sessions, pre-departure briefings, and stakeholder engagement events. · Coordinate and support visits by University representatives to the region. · Assist with regional marketing and promotional activities, including scholarship campaigns and digital outreach initiatives. · Conduct market research and provide insights on competitor activity, market trends, and recruitment opportunities. · Support reporting and analysis of recruitment performance and market intelligence. · Manage travel schedules and activity planning effectively to ensure maximum regional coverage and impact. · Contribute to wider international recruitment projects and initiatives as required by the Head of Global Collaborations. Person Specification · Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in the UK or internationally. · Demonstrable experience in student recruitment, international education, or related sectors. · Strong understanding of the higher education landscape and student recruitment trends in Kenya and East Africa. · Experience working with education agents and partner institutions. · Excellent relationship management and customer service skills. · Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. · Good understanding of UK student visa and immigration processes is desirable. · Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. · Experience using digital platforms and social media for recruitment and engagement purposes. · Good IT and reporting skills. · Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and travel when required. · Ability to undertake regular regional and international travel. · Valid passport required.
