The company's sole mission is to satisfy our customers by supplying the safest and highest quality standard of affordable horticultural produce.About the Role We are looking for a Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for ensuring the optimal mechanical performance of all production and processing equipment. This includes preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical breakdowns, and supporting installation and modification projects. The role is critical to minimizing downtime, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with all food safety standards (e.g., GMP, BRC, etc). Key Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency mechanical troubleshooting on production equipment. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals to diagnose faults accurately. Execute the scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to minimize unplanned downtime. Conduct condition-based monitoring specifically vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and ultrasonic leak detection. Strictly adhere to Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Identify and report mechanical hazards and ensure all mechanical work complies with Food Safety Standards. Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns to restore operations with minimal impact on output. Work closely with production teams to understand issues and provide technical support. Assist in the installation, commissioning, and mechanical setup of new equipment. Accurately document all maintenance activities and parts usage. Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Suggest improvements to mechanical systems to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety. Minimum Requirements Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred. Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing environment; food, beverage experience is an added advantage. Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals. Strong hands-on skills in troubleshooting mechanical systems, including conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Experience with precision maintenance tools such as laser alignment tools, dial indicators, and torque wrenches. Basic understanding of how mechanical systems integrate with and affect electrical control systems (e.g., limit switches, sensors). Knowledge of mechanical systems specific to food processing, such as sanitary design, stainless steel finishes, and CIP/SIP compatibility.
