Impact Fund Denmark is Denmark’s Development Finance Institution. We aim to be a best-in class impact investor by making commercial private sector investments that support the green transition, as well as building just and inclusive societies in developing countries and emerging markets. Impact Fund Denmark has a strong focus on creating sustainable and responsible businesses, which generate measurable social, economic, and climate impacts as well as financial returns. At the end of 2025, Impact Fund Denmark managed in total 170 investments across developing countries. Impact Fund Denmark’s asset under management is set to grow from currently USD2.1bn to USD5.0bn by 2030.

The job As Senior Investment Manager you will be expected to source investments from your network of business contacts, lead deal teams through the entire deal cycle and represent Impact Fund Denmark onboards of portfolio companies. The investment teams in Impact Fund Denmark are responsible for the entire investment process, and in this position, you must be able to cover from sourcing through investing to managing the investments and exit. This includes: Collaborate to structure and drive investment processes, including due diligence, financial modelling and the development of value creation and impact creation plans. Source impactful investment opportunities within Sustainable Food Systems Ensure all investments align with our green, just and inclusive impact priorities, as well as the SDGs. Develop and implement strong value creation and impact creation plans. Represent Impact Fund Denmark at external events, forums and industry networks, strengthening its position as a leading impact investor. Ensure all investments meet Impact Fund Denmark’s high ESG standards and adhere to legal, environmental and social compliance frameworks.

You will be reporting to one of the Managing Director and Co-Head of Sustainable Food Systems team. The role is based in our office in Nairobi.

The team: The Sustainable Food Systems team invest in companies operating within our mandate to support equitable access to healthy food while advancing sustainable production – especially empowering smallholder farmers. Our impact priorities are ensuring food security and healthy lives, ensuring decent livelihood and jobs, ensuring support to climate-mitigation and adaptive solutions, and preserving ecosystems and natural resources We attach great importance to good teamwork and collaboration, maintaining a positive atmosphere and having fun together. We help each other out, share our knowledge, and – while each of us hold high standards and integrity to our work – we don’t take ourselves too seriously and share a good laugh.

Your qualifications & experience: The ideal candidate will have demonstrated good results and high level of capabilities regarding: 6+ years of full-time experience from direct investing, including origination, due diligence, transaction and portfolio management and exits, ideally experience from both debt and equity. Proficiency in financial modelling, valuation, negotiation, and due diligence processes. Experience leading deals, and mentoring junior team members Ideally experience from food and agri sector or related, however strong direct investment is preferred over sector knowledge Passion for impact and making a difference Awareness of global trends and challenges in sustainable development and impact investing Strong commitment to fostering measurable impact in line with the SDGs. Ability to assess opportunities critically and design innovative solutions that balance financial returns and societal impact.
