The Kenya Network Information Centre (KENIC) was established through the facilitation of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK).KENIC is the entity charged with the management and the administration of the dot ke Country Code Top-Level Domain (.ke ccTLD) name. KENIC was established as a non-profit organization aimed at managing and operating the .KE ccTLD. This took place after intensive consultations with the Local Internet Community. This public-private partnership was therefore the initial step in facilitating the growth and uptake of the Internet sub-sect ICT in Kenya. Vision To be a reputable overseer of Kenyan Domain Name Space by managing and administering .ke in an effective, transparent and equitable manner, and in conformity with global Internet policies. Mission To promote, manage and operate the delegated .ke ccTLD in the interest of the Kenyan Internet community and being mindful of the global Internet community interest in consistent with ICANN policies.Job Purpose The Internship program will provide an opportunity to gain hands on work- experience, expand knowledge, refine career goals and build professional network and mentor. Responsibilities Support staff – both internal and external Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support WHOIS checks and cleanup Any other relevant work that may be assigned to the job holder from time to time. Systems Documentation  Education and Experience  A recent graduate and holder of Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or IT related course. Knowledgable on Cybersecurity will be an added advantage. Understanding network protocals and system administration tasks Required Competencies  Techy-savviness-: Proficient in up-to-date computer application skills e.g. Microsoft Office and excel Analytical-: Gathers relevant information through practical methods and develops actionable insights Creative: - Generates and shares as well as champions new ideas for implementation towards improving operations Teamwork: - Achieves daily, weekly and monthly targets as part of the team, while taking in lessons that better performance and openly shares ideas and views that build team cohesiveness Communication-: Ability to be articulate to ensure proper communication when dealing with staff and clients. Accountability: - Adheres to deadlines and appointments and is keen to proactively source solutions Planning and organizing-: Designs action plans and work schedule and approaches that enable accomplish of operating plans that are aligned to the organization’s goals Strategic acumen: Implements actions plans and milestones in their daily  tasks Change & Culture Stewardship: Ability to demonstrate and support desired culture change behavior.
