Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance (GFLA) in EMEA provides strategic support across commercial, regulatory, governance, and compliance matters, helping drive business success while protecting Ericsson’s interests and reputation.
As Group Legal Counsel within the East & North Africa legal team, you will lead and support legal matters across assigned territories, including commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory issues, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions/trade controls, and dispute resolution. You will partner closely with business and legal stakeholders on high-value customer and supplier contracts, strategic partnerships, corporate transactions, governance, and advisory matters.
You will be part of the Customer Unit East & North Africa legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal, Customer Unit East & North Africa. The position will be based within one of the territories in the region.
What You'll Do
Act as a trusted legal advisor, providing practical and strategic guidance that supports business objectives and successful deal execution. Lead and support negotiations for complex customer, supplier, and partnership agreements. Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks while enabling growth and transformation. Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, competition, data protection, intellectual property, and trade control matters. Build strong relationships across business units, functions, and geographies, fostering collaboration and transparency. Contribute to capability building through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and best-practice initiatives. Support an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative team culture.
What You'll Bring
Qualified lawyer with at least 7 years of experience in a leading law firm and/or multinational in-house legal environment. Strong experience in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters. Proven ability to support complex contracts, negotiations, and cross-border business activities. Strong business acumen and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders across diverse environments. Experience in the technology or telecommunications sector is an advantage. Growth mindset, sound judgment, integrity, and commitment to delivering high-quality legal support.
