Job Summary

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Procurement in a construction company, your role involves supporting various aspects of cost management and procurement processes. Responsibilities and Duties

• Request for Quotations from various suppliers on a need basis.

• Preparing purchase orders for approval by supervisors 

• Analyse Quotations from various suppliers for the most optimal price offer

• Preparation of project budgets

• Preparation of weekly site reports

• Effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders

• Performing research to identify potential suppliers and evaluating their qualifications

• Communicating with customers about order status, answering questions about products and services, and resolving issues

• Negotiating price changes with suppliers when costs fluctuate significantly

• Keeping records of orders placed and received, updating inventory levels based on these records

• Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations regarding purchasing procedures and best practices

• Coordinating with other departments within a company for the purchase of specialized materials or equipment

• Working directly with suppliers to obtain bids on new or ongoing projects

• Any other duty issued to you by your Supervisor.

Person Specifications

1. Academic Qualifications

 Bachelor of Quantity Survey only.

2. Experience

 At least 1 year experience as a QS working for a contractor or consultant

3. Skills and Attributes

  Competent in conflict and crisis management

  Leadership and human resources management skills;

  Excellent time and project management skills;

  Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and

quality standards.
