Role Description We are seeking a highly responsible and professional individual to support the General Manager in achieving lodge revenue and profit targets through effective day-to-day operational management, staff supervision, and delivery of exceptional guest experiences. The Assistant Manager ensures seamless lodge operations, upholds brand standards, and drives team performance in the absence of the General Manager. standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership Deputise for the General Manager and provide leadership to Heads of Departments in achieving departmental and company targets. Support Heads of Departments in ensuring seamless service delivery across all areas of the lodge. Assist in the selection, onboarding, training, and appraisal of lodge staff from line level to supervisory positions. Guest Experience Proactively manage guest feedback, ensuring action points are actioned with relevant Heads of Department to mitigate recurrence. Monitor service delivery across all areas of the lodge and ensure corrective actions align with the company's Brand Standards. Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience through feedback evaluation and strategy development. Ensure VIP guest procedures and interaction protocols are followed consistently. Implement and review systems for both VIP and regular guests, promoting information sharing on success stories. Ensure GHA enrollment targets are met, and brand experience standards are upheld. Employee Engagement Build awareness among all lodge staff of Key Performance Indicators and how achieving KPI targets supports career growth. Promote a culture of effective succession planning and growth potential within the lodge and wider company. Communicate performance expectations clearly and provide employees with ongoing, constructive feedback. Coordinate formal staff appraisals conducted twice annually. Promote equal opportunity, diversity, and a safe work environment in line with company health, hygiene, and emergency procedures. Cash Flow Support planning, reviewing, and monitoring of operational activities to ensure costs are kept within budget parameters. Communicate any cash-flow requirements in a timely manner to the General Manager, Operations, and Head Office Finance. Assist in building and maintaining a positive working relationship with the Commercial Team to ensure correct lodge positioning. Operations Implement systems and procedures that ensure consistent, high-quality service in the day-to-day running of the lodge. Promote audit compliance across all departments and follow up on outstanding action points. Assist Heads of Departments in ensuring compliance with current Statutory and Legal requirements, including OSHA and NEMC. Facilitate weekly and monthly departmental meetings and inter-departmental reviews. Education & Experience: Diploma / Degree qualification in Hospitality Management or equivalent professional experience. Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience in a lodge or hotel operations environment. Proficiency in results-oriented written communication, including reports, memos, and emails. Ability to analyse revenue data and understand revenue generation techniques and processes.
