Kenya Red Cross is one of the many International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement societies around the world. The Kenya organisation was established in 1965, The Kenya Red Cross supports and runs a number of projects whilst raising awareness to the Kenyan public about the current issues or problems which may affect them.Key Responsibilities. Programme Management Management of day to day operations and efficient coordination of community health activities. Ensure the implementation of the community health program conforms to internationally accepted standards and national guidelines Provide technical guidance to national technical staff and refugee incentive workers on the planning and implementation of the community health program. Provide technical leadership and support in conducting mass campaigns in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and UN agencies. Establish a plan of action for all community health activities to include monitoring and evaluation. Support the development of project annual work plans in coordination with the project teams. Finance/ Grants management Prepare budgets and proposals for community health activities Recommend grant and budget revisions to the relevant supervisors Ensure adherence to budgets by reviewing expenditure and spending patterns. Communication and Reporting Ensure weekly, monthly and quarterly program reports on the community health activities are prepared and shared, whilst ensuring continuous monitoring of community based indicators Minimum Qualifications and Experience Bachelors degree in Public Health / Environmental Health. Masters degree in Public health/Environmental Health will be an added advantage. Membership Certificate/Licence from the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council. Three (3) years working experience in planning, implementing and evaluating community health programmes in a busy set up either with MoH or INGO. Work experience in Camp setting will be an added advantage. Technical and other Competences Strong communication skills: oral, written and presentation skills. Should be a team player and culturally sensitive. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and utilization of the internet. Demonstrate ability of proposal/budget making and grant management. Excellent report writing skills. Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver the Society’s strategic objectives.
