Position Overview The Field Technician owns technical operations and issues at the assigned cluster. The Field Technician is mainly responsible for maintaining reliable technical operations at Hubs in the region to ensure Hub uptime. 

Accountabilities

Own and manage Energy uptime in the cluster to a minimum of 99.9% by ensuring all energy systems are performing as expected and all necessary interventions are planned. 

Ensure Packs go through troubleshooting and repair to maintain 98% pack health (only 2% can be defective at a time)

The Field Service Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Technical Troubleshooting and Management (50%)

Troubleshooting defective packs at the region to have no less than <2% of packs in a defective state in the region, and ensure data is collected and logged correctly.

Monitoring of Swap% and PV% at all Hubs in the region, ensuring Hubs with >80% are escalated.

Constantly monitor Hub energy in the region to prevent downtime (time in the danger zone) 

Test new products and firmware as needed.  

Travel to Hubs to resolve issues requiring in-person troubleshooting/repairs. 

Accurately file, respond to, update, and escalate technical issues in right technical channels

Complete Hub commissioning, and testing, and provide sign-off for Hub go-live.

Reports (15%)

Provide daily updates to Regional Service Engineer and Regional Coordinator on the hubs experiencing issues, including those that need to be added to waitlisting/ upgrade plans. 

Provide weekly reports on Hub health to be reviewed on 1vs1 with RSE 

Communicate technical issues to the Regional Coordinator 

Provide monthly report on cluster  status on tech - DDD structure

Planning and Leadership (15%)

Develop a weekly route plan that shows Hubs to be visited, Issues to be resolved, expected outcomes and support required.

Attend weekly meetings with the regional coordinator - setting priorities, addressing gaps & planning for the next action. 

Management & Supervision   (15%)

Attending regional meetings

Keep accurate records of Hub Equipment and product component inventory (including defects)

 

Other duties   (5%)

Record and log field activities

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

99.9% Energy Uptime 

98% Pack Health -  which means that no more than 2% of packs should be in a defective state at any point in time.

Who You Are- Experience & Competencies

Industry Knowledge: Diploma or Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any other related field.

Professional Experience: 2 years experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic devices or systems is highly desirable.

Proficiency with Technical Tools: Familiarity with using diagnostic tools, software, and data analysis applications will enable effective monitoring and issue resolution.

Strong Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze technical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions is essential.

Excellent Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, is necessary for interacting with team members, reporting issues, and documenting processes.

Adaptability and Willingness to Learn: The role requires continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies and procedures.

Self-Motivation and Initiative: The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative is crucial in a dynamic environment.
