Position Overview:

The Regional Service Engineer owns technical operations performance within the assigned region and is responsible for ensuring high hub uptime, strong pack health, rapid fault resolution, and adherence to operational standards.

The RSE acts as the first level of technical leadership within the region, coordinating Field Service Engineers (FSEs), supporting preventive maintenance activities, and ensuring operational issues are proactively identified and resolved before they impact customers.

Success in this role is measured through uptime performance, pack availability, preventive maintenance execution, and operational reliability across the assigned hubs.

Accountabilities

Own and maintain regional hub uptime targets through proactive monitoring and intervention

Ensure high pack health and charging availability across all hubs in the region

Drive rapid fault resolution and minimize downtime

Ensure compliance with SOPs, HSE requirements, and quality standards

Support hub upgrades, commissioning activities, and operational scaling initiatives.

The Regional Service Engineer  responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Hub Monitoring & Uptime Management (30%)

Monitor hub energy performance and charging availability across assigned locations

Identify and escalate hubs approaching overcapacity thresholds (>80%)

Proactively prevent downtime through monitoring, troubleshooting, and intervention planning

Monitor swap trends, PV performance, and charging throughput across all hubs

Ensure hub connectivity and controller communication are functioning properly

Track and improve pack availability across assigned regions

Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance (30%)Diagnose and resolve technical faults affecting:

Smart chargers

HC3 systems

Battery packs

BESS

PV systems

Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities on all energy systems

Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs requiring physical intervention

Support root cause analysis for recurring technical issues

Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records

Team Coordination & Leadership (20%)

Coordinate and support Field Service Engineers (FSEs) within assigned regions

Conduct technical coaching and field guidance for FSEs and interns

Support adherence to SOPs, HSE standards, and operational procedures

Participate in weekly operational planning and review meetings

Conduct regular 1-on-1 engagements with FSEs and technical interns 

Reporting & Escalation Management (10%)

Document, track, and escalate technical issues appropriately

Provide daily updates on hubs experiencing technical issues

Submit weekly reports on regional hub health and operational performance

Generate monthly regional technical status reports using DDD structure

Track hubs requiring upgrades, waitlisting, or capacity intervention

Inventory & Asset Management (10%)

Support tracking and accountability of technical inventory

Ensure availability of required operational tools and materials

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

99.9% Energy Uptime 

98% Pack Health -  which means that no more than 2% of packs should be in a defective state at any point in time.

95% Charger Health

QualificationsEducational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electronics, or related technical discipline

Technical Proficiency

5 years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical or renewable energy systems

Experience working with:

Battery systems

Solar PV systems

Power electronics

Charging infrastructure

Hands-On Experience

Proven experience managing technical operations and uptime in field environments

Experience with preventive maintenance and field troubleshooting

Data-Driven Mindset

Strong analytical and reporting capability

Ability to interpret operational trends and performance data

Problem-Solving Skills

Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement timely solutions

Strong root cause analysis capability

Communication Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to coordinate across field teams and stakeholders
