The role of a Field Sales Representative is approaching prospects and educating them through the entire sales process, including generating leads, educating them and turning those interested in long-term clients. Other duties and responsibilities of Field Sales Representatives are:
- Converting potential prospects into successful clients through client sales methods such as door-to-door, cold calling, referrals follow through and presentations
- Researching and forecasting sales and developing sales strategies and methods and evaluating their effectiveness
- Visiting clients on a regular basis at their premises and evaluating clients needs and wants to ensure products offered are optimal
- Devising strategies and working to meet them individually and as a team
- Monitoring the organization's competitors, their products and client offerings
- Acting as a representative for the organization during clients' meetings and presentations; protecting the reputation of the company
- Maintaining customer accounts and records of sales
- Reporting and providing feedback to management using field sales data collected
