As we continue to expand our footprint, we are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our Solar and Energy Solutions division. The Opportunity This role is ideal for an ambitious sales professional who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, and closing meaningful projects that create long-term impact. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, managing the sales process, and working closely with our technical team to convert opportunities into successful projects. This is a growth-oriented role with significant earning potential and the opportunity to build a regional career within one of Africa's emerging energy companies. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Lead Generation Identify and pursue new opportunities for Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage solutions. Build relationships with decision-makers across commercial, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, education, mining, and real estate sectors. Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities. Attend industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and networking forums to generate leads and partnerships. Actively promote the Onamo brand and value proposition within target markets. Client Engagement Conduct client meetings and site visits to understand energy requirements and business objectives. Gather information required for solution design and proposal development. Present Onamo's capabilities, case studies, and proposed solutions. Build long-term relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and strategic partners. Opportunity Management Work closely with the engineering team to develop technical and commercial proposals. Manage opportunities through the entire sales cycle from prospecting to contract award. Coordinate internal resources to ensure timely proposal submissions and client responses. Maintain regular follow-up with prospects and clients. Sales Performance Achieve agreed revenue and project acquisition targets. Maintain accurate pipeline reporting through the company's CRM platform. Provide regular updates on opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities. Contribute to the development of new business strategies and market expansion initiatives. What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will: Establish a strong network within target sectors. Build a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities. Consistently generate new project opportunities. Successfully convert opportunities into awarded projects. Become a trusted advisor to clients seeking energy solutions. Qualifications & Experience We are more interested in your ability to generate business than the specific industry you come from. You may come from: Solar & Renewable Energy Electrical Engineering Construction & Infrastructure Facilities Management ICT & Technology Solutions Industrial Equipment HVAC Commercial Real Estate Requirements: Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Energy, or a related field. Minimum 5 years experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, or commercial roles. Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business opportunities. Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills. Self-driven, proactive, and commercially minded. Willingness to travel as required. What We Offer Competitive base salary.
