CIC Insurance Group Limited, commonly referred to as CIC Group, is an insurance and investment group that operates mainly in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and MalawiAbout the Role Responsible for analysing and settling all legal matters relating to third party claims lodged with CIC and pursue recoveries with respect to material damages. Key Responsibilities Review pleadings, legal opinions and status reports prepared by external advocates and action as appropriate. Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions for review/ advice by management. Engage in negotiations with third party claimants with a view to settling admissible claims out of court. Issue instructions depending on the task to various service providers involved in the claims process such as advocates, investigators amongst others. Respond to demand letters from third party advocates and/or claimants; Initiate and ensure timely processing of legal claims payments (judgements, fee notes and discharge vouchers). Maintain and update reserves for all files. Who We’re Looking For Essential Knowledge/Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Law or in a related field Postgraduate Diploma in Law required Advocate of the High Court of Kenya Progress in ACII, Diploma in Insurance (is an added advantage) Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
