Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Estimation and Tendering Engineer role based in Nairobi. The Estimation and Tendering Engineer will analyze client requirements, technical drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities for electrical, automation, and solar PV projects. The role involves preparing detailed technical and commercial tender documents, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate solutions, and ensuring that proposals meet both client expectations and company standards. The engineer will liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations, optimize cost structures, and maintain an updated database of pricing and technical data. Day-to-day tasks also include responding to RFQs and RFPs, participating in bid clarification meetings, supporting contract negotiations, and working closely with sales and project managers to ensure a smooth handover from tender to execution.
Qualifications
1.Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field Minimum 2 years' experience in:
- LV Switchgear
- Panel Building
- Industrial Automation
- Electrical Contracting
2.Strong understanding of:
- Electrical drawings & SLDs
- MCCs, Distribution Boards & Automation Panels
- Costing and tender preparation
