Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Blockchain Developer role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Blockchain Developer will design, develop, and maintain blockchain-based applications and smart contracts that power HisaHub’s digital investment ecosystem. Responsibilities include implementing secure transaction logic, integrating blockchain components with back-end services, and collaborating with product, data, and security teams to build scalable, regulation-aligned solutions. The role also involves reviewing and optimizing blockchain architecture, participating in code reviews, writing technical documentation, and troubleshooting production issues. The successful candidate will contribute to new product features, ensure high system reliability, and stay current with emerging blockchain technologies and industry best practices. Qualifications Strong foundation in Blockchain and Cryptocurrency technologies, including smart contracts, consensus mechanisms, and decentralized applications. Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with experience building secure, scalable APIs and microservices. Applied knowledge of Cryptography concepts such as hashing, digital signatures, and encryption for secure transactions and data handling. Experience with at least one major blockchain platform (e.g., Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Hyperledger) and relevant programming languages (e.g., Solidity, Rust, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript). Understanding of fintech or financial services domains, ideally including trading, digital assets, or payment systems. Familiarity with secure coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (e.g., Git). Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Interest in African capital markets, financial inclusion, and building products for emerging investors is highly desirable.
