The Opportunity We are seeking a commercially driven professional capable of originating opportunities, influencing project stakeholders and converting complex ICT and ELV infrastructure projects across Africa. This is not a traditional sales role. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of technology, construction and commercial development, engaging directly with hotel owners, developers, consultants, contractors, healthcare operators, educational institutions and corporate clients. The role requires a strong balance of commercial acumen, technical understanding and relationship-building capability.
Key Responsibilities Project Origination & Business Development Identify and develop opportunities across hospitality, healthcare, education, corporate, mixed-use development and mining sectors. Build and maintain relationships with developers, hotel operators, consultants, architects, project managers and contractors. Track new developments from concept through construction and operational phases. Generate and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities. Identify opportunities before formal tendering stages and position Bakyson as a preferred technology partner. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Engage senior decision-makers including CEOs, General Managers, Owners, Developers, Facilities Directors and Project Directors. Conduct discovery meetings and solution workshops. Understand operational, commercial and technical requirements. Present Bakyson's capabilities, references and value proposition. Build trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders. Solution Development & Commercial Strategy Work closely with engineering and presales teams to develop tailored solutions. Participate in technology design discussions and solution reviews. Guide clients on appropriate technology strategies and system architectures. Develop commercial strategies for opportunity conversion. Support bid qualification and go/no-go decisions. Tender & Proposal Management Lead opportunity qualification and bid strategy. Coordinate proposal preparation and submission. Manage tender processes and consultant interactions. Review commercial terms and contract requirements. Lead commercial negotiations through project award. Strategic Market Development Develop relationships with: Hotel Operators Real Estate Developers Healthcare Groups Educational Institutions Construction Companies Consultants International Brands Identify strategic partnerships that support long-term growth. Represent Bakyson at industry conferences, exhibitions and networking forums.
Qualifications & Experience We are more interested in commercial capability and project experience than a specific academic background. Candidates may come from: ICT & Technology Solutions ELV & Security Systems Hospitality Technology Telecommunications Construction & Building Services Smart Building Solutions Enterprise Infrastructure Facilities Management Real Estate Development Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business, ICT, Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management or related field. Minimum 5 years experience in B2B business development, project sales or commercial management. Demonstrated success selling complex solutions or infrastructure projects. Experience managing long sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders. Strong proposal, presentation and negotiation skills. Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities. Willingness to travel extensively across Africa.
Preferred Experience The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following: Hospitality Technology Enterprise Networking Structured Cabling Security Systems Audio Visual Solutions Building Management Systems Telecommunications Infrastructure Smart Buildings Construction Technology Experience engaging consultants, developers and project teams will be highly advantageous.
