KKCO East Africa is an independent accounting and advisory firm of Certified Public Accountants situated in Kenya with a vision for significant growth across the continent of Africa. Position Summary The accountant will provide financial and administrative support to our Francophone and Anglophone clients across East Africa, ensuring the effective management of accounting, budgeting, cash flow, banking, and asset management functions. Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, the role requires strong bilingual communication skills in both French and English. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations, supporting budget planning and monitoring, and contributing to the efficient delivery of financial services across the region. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Process invoices and accounting transactions in relevant financial systems. Support weekly and fortnightly accounting activities for regional offices. Prepare and reconcile loan, third-party, and general ledger accounts. Produce periodic financial reports and account analyses. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Budget Management Assist in the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets. Monitor budget utilization and expenditure trends. Prepare budget tracking reports and variance analyses. Support mission and training budget planning. Respond to budget-related queries from Headquarters. Maintain and update budget management systems as required. Cash & Treasury Management Manage cash provisioning and liquidity requirements. Process supplier, consultant, and statutory payments. Maintain petty cash records and reconciliations. Prepare monthly cash and bank reconciliation reports. Monitor cash flow and support treasury planning activities. Banking & Administrative Support Upload and process payments through banking platforms. Maintain relationships with banking institutions. Monitor bank and mobile money accounts. Track transactions and investigate discrepancies. Manage cheque books and authorized signatory records. Conduct supplier compliance checks before payment processing. Support administrative functions within the Regional Office. Asset Management Support the management of fixed assets across the region. Update and maintain asset records in the asset management system. Assist with asset verification, tracking, and reporting. Regional Support & Team Collaboration Provide support to regional offices across East Africa. Serve as backup for Accounting and Budget Management Officers when required. Train and guide colleagues on financial procedures and systems. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency. Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage. Experience Minimum of three (3) years' experience in accounting, finance, or administration within a reputable organization. Experience working in an international organization, development agency, NGO, or multinational environment is desirable. Technical skills Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge. Advanced proficiency in accounting and financial management systems such as Xero Accounting, QuickBooks online among others. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Language requirements Fluent written and spoken French (minimum B2 level). Fluent written and spoken English (minimum B2 level). Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations in both languages. Competencies High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
