Job Purpose: The Business Manager will lead the commercial operations and expansion of the company’s pharmaceutical business in Kenya. This role is responsible for embedding a culture of excellence and performance for the Kenya commercial organization, enriching the company’s presence within the local healthcare ecosystem and delivering sustainable revenue growth across both private retail and institutional healthcare channels.

Job Responsibilities: Develop and execute the country’s commercial strategy, launch plans and sales growth initiatives in line with business objectives. Drive revenue, market share, and portfolio expansion by identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities within priority therapeutic segments. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing dynamics to formulate proactive business strategies and action plans. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales and marketing organization through effective recruitment, coaching, and performance management. Establish robust commercial processes, systems, and controls covering sales force effectiveness, territory management, OPEX, ROI, inventory, and performance reporting. Strengthen distributor, key account, and channel partnerships while expanding presence across retail, hospital, and institutional segments. Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, medical associations, and other industry stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with regional, regulatory, supply chain, and marketing teams to ensure compliance, product availability, and successful business execution. Lead regulatory and product portfolio management activities, ensuring timely registrations, approvals, compliance, and successful introduction of new products.

Candidate Profile: 10-12 years pharmaceutical commercial experience, of which at least 4-6 years in sales management and business leadership roles. Proven ability to build and manage sales teams. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical distribution landscape. Track record of delivering commercial growth. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English adequate for regular/daily verbal and written communication. Fluency in spoken English will be a strong preference.
