The role involves maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including preparing and posting journal entries, updating ledgers, and reconciling accounts. The Bookkeeping Officer will assist in the preparation of financial statements, track income and expenses, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Responsibilities also include managing invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations, and using accounting software to generate reports for management. The individual will collaborate with internal teams, respond to finance-related queries, and help improve bookkeeping processes for efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications Strong bookkeeping and journal entries (accounting) skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and organized financial records. Proficiency in preparing and supporting financial statements and related reports. Hands-on experience with accounting software and general finance principles. Relevant academic background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage. Attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical abilities, and a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setup, with strong time management and communication skills. Familiarity with Kenyan accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting is a plus.
