Oracle Corporation is an American multinational computer technology corporation, headquartered in Redwood City, California.Job Description Data Centre Technician at Nairobi, Kenya needed for hands-on rack & stack, break/fix, cabling, installs, and incident triage—keeping Oracle Cloud infrastructure running 24/7. As an Oracle Data Center Technician, you’ll be a key part of the onsite team supporting day-to-day operations in a production data center environment in Nairobi. You’ll work hands-on with infrastructure and hardware, helping keep services reliable and supporting critical build and delivery milestones. You’ll partner closely with engineers and senior technicians to troubleshoot issues, execute installations, and maintain a high bar for operational excellence, safety, and documentation. This is an onsite role including on-call as required Requirements 2+ years of experience working in a data center environment (e.g., data center operations, colocation, hyperscaler, enterprise DC, or equivalent critical environment role). Hands-on familiarity with server hardware and basic break/fix workflows. Basic knowledge of Linux (comfortable with fundamental commands and troubleshooting steps). Understanding of the data center ecosystem: cooling, power/electrical concepts, networking basics, and structured cabling. Comfortable working rotating shifts in an onsite operations environment (including on-call as required). Strong attention to detail, documentation, and process adherence. Responsibilities Provide onsite support in a production data center environment, including hardware break/fix, component replacement, and basic troubleshooting. Assist with installation, configuration, and testing of data center equipment (rack/stack, cabling, and deployment support). Perform routine maintenance activities such as firmware updates and health checks following established procedures. Triage and respond to incidents and service requests, escalating appropriately and documenting actions taken. Support network/structured cabling tasks (fiber/copper patching, labeling, cable management) as needed. Maintain accurate parts and asset inventory, including audit support and disciplined tracking of spares. Follow SOPs and operational processes; contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
