The requirements

Diploma in Mortuary Science from a recognized institution.

Registration with The Morticians and Allied Professionals Association of Kenya (MAPAKe).

Minimum of one (1) year experience in a busy medical morgue.

High emotional resilience and empathy.

Knowledge of Biosafety and infection control and relevant legal requirements.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Receipt, identification, registration, and storage of deceased persons from hospital wards and external sources.

Conduct and support mortuary procedures, including embalming, last respects, and post-mortem examinations.

Release bodies to authorized persons for final rites while maintaining accurate mortuary records.

Manage surgical specimens and anatomical materials in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Maintain mortuary hygiene, infection prevention standards, and a clean and safe mortuary environment.
-
Monitor mortuary environmental conditions and equipment to ensure the safe preservation and storage of bodies.
