Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate the day-to-day transport operations of the institution to ensure safe, reliable, and timely transportation services. Supervise, schedule, and monitor the performance of drivers and transport support staff, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, road safety regulations, and professional standards. Drive school vehicles as required and ensure the safe transportation of students, staff, visitors, and school property. Oversee the maintenance, servicing, inspection, licensing, insurance, and overall roadworthiness of all vehicles in the fleet. Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, mileage, and operational costs, and recommend strategies to improve efficiency, reduce wastage, and maximize value for money. Ensure all vehicles are equipped with the required safety equipment and comply with statutory and institutional safety requirements. Conduct regular fleet inspections, investigate accidents and incidents,and implement corrective and preventive measures to enhance safety and compliance. Support the school's marketing and public relations initiatives by serving as a positive ambassador of the institution, ensuring schoolvehicles are professionally presented, and assisting with student recruitment activities, school events, and community engagement programmes as required. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement within the transportdepartment. Provide monthly reports on vehicle maintenance requirements, replacement schedules, fleet expansion needs, and transport-relatedoperational improvements to ensure optimal fleet performance and longevity. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time. Key Requirements Minimum of TEN (10) years’ proven experience in driving vehicles of ALL classes including BUSES and fleet management. Demonstrated experience operating a 50-seater bus within an educational institution, corporate organization, or similar environment. Valid Class ABCE Driving License. Valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) License. Motor Vehicle Mechanics Certificate from NYS or a recognized equivalent institution. Minimum education level: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). Certificate of Good Conduct. Proven ability to coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and fleet records. Experience in managing fuel usage, vehicle documentation, insurance, and compliance requirements. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
